Select LIVE FEED on the scanner to begin listening.

St. Mary's County Scanner

How to Use the Scanner

Use the controls below to customize and manage your listening experience. For normal listening, select the talkgroups you want to hear using SELECT TG, then press LIVE FEED.

LIVE FEED
Starts or stops the live scanner feed. When LIVE FEED is active, incoming radio traffic from your selected talkgroups will automatically play as it becomes available.
HOLD SYS
Holds the scanner on the current radio system. This is useful when you want to continue hearing activity from the same system without traffic from other systems interrupting.
HOLD TG
Holds the scanner on the current talkgroup. This is especially useful when following an active incident and you want to continue hearing traffic from that specific talkgroup.
REPLAY LAST
Replays the current transmission from the beginning or replays the most recent transmission if nothing is currently playing. Pressing the button repeatedly allows you to move farther back through recent radio traffic.
SKIP NEXT
Stops the transmission currently playing and moves to the next transmission waiting in the scanner queue.
AVOID
Temporarily prevents the current talkgroup from being heard. This can be useful when a talkgroup is especially busy and you want to temporarily concentrate on other radio traffic. Repeated selections can extend the amount of time the talkgroup is avoided.
SEARCH CALL
Opens the archived call search. This allows you to browse and listen to previously recorded radio transmissions that are available on the scanner system.
PAUSE
Temporarily pauses audio playback without immediately clearing radio traffic waiting in the queue. This is helpful if you need to temporarily silence the scanner and resume listening shortly afterward.
SELECT TG
Opens the Talkgroup Selection screen. Use this area to choose which radio systems and talkgroups you want included in your LIVE FEED. Talkgroups that are turned off will not normally be heard during live listening.
Quick Start:
1. Select SELECT TG.
2. Choose the systems and talkgroups you want to monitor.
3. Return to the main scanner screen.
4. Press LIVE FEED to begin listening.
5. Use HOLD TG when you want to follow a specific incident or channel.
Scanner audio may be delayed from the actual radio transmission. Availability of talkgroups and archived radio traffic may vary based on system configuration.
