We Shall Return......

Several things I want to cover in this little story and the first is a promise that we made to the citizens of Victory Woods Senior Apartments that we would return to conduct a fire drill for all the residents of the complex and that is just what the fire chief had us due once they called us and said they were ready. Both stations mounted up on their apparatus and we met the head building super in front of the main building. I'm pretty sure it was not going to be a surprise as many were either outside or in the lobby already but we still pulled the alarm to make sure it was working and that the elevator did was it was supposed to do and all the residents had an evacuation plan and they followed it perfectly. They all thanked us for coming back and we had a question and answer period before leaving. It's always a good time to visit the people who have helped to make this great country of ours. Besides it allows me to check out the different rooms to see which one I like.
The other story and few pictures is to say good bye and best of luck to one of our most active firefighters from station 3 who has just enlisted in the United States Army. Richard Roloson, Jr. has been one of the hardest working members we have ever had the pleasure of having on our rolls. He started as a junior firefighter and when he reaches the age of 18 was voted into the department as a full voting member. His whole family belongs to the department with his dad and sister also members. He will be sorely missed around the station because if you needed something done all you had to do was ask him and he got right on it. I don't think there is any question but that he will be a great asset to the U. S. Army. We all wish him the best and know that he will be back to visit with us as soon as his basic training is over. You Go Rolo…….
