| On Friday, January 9, 2026, at approximately 8:00 a.m., firefighters and EMS crews responded to a serious motor vehicle collision with entrapment near the intersection of Point Lookout Road and Tripple E Farm Way.
Initial 911 callers reported a single vehicle had crashed into a tree and rolled onto its side, leaving the driver trapped. Units from Bay District Volunteer Fire Department Stations 3 and 9, along with Ridge Volunteer Fire Department and Second District VFD, arrived promptly to find the vehicle on its side after striking both a utility pole and a tree. The driver was heavily pinned inside.
Firefighters immediately began a complex extrication process using specialized tools to gain access to the trapped individual. Due to the severity of the entrapment, the rescue took approximately 50 minutes.
Paramedics from the Maryland State Police Aviation Command's Trooper 7 assisted on scene by ground, while Trooper 2 landed nearby to prepare for medical transport. Once extricated, the patient was turned over to EMS personnel and flown by Trooper 2 to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for treatment of serious injuries.
