October 18, 2021

At 06:25 today Bay District Stations 3 and 9 along with surrounding EMS companies were alerted for an auto accident with entrapment at Three Notch Road at the intersection of Forrest Park Road. First arriving Fire Chief 3 (J. Gould) confirmed one patient pinned and an additional two patients not pinned. Squad 3 arrived and began extrication of the entrapped driver, Rescue Engine 92 arrived and assisted. The patient was extricated in less than 20 minutes and turned over to awaiting EMS crews. EMS crews evaluated the driver and passenger and determined they would need to be taken to a trauma center due to the extent of their injuries.

Maryland State Police Trooper 7 was requested and responded to transport the two patients to the Capital Region Medical Center in Largo with non-life-threatening injuries. One patient refused medical treatment and was not transported to a hospital. NDW Pax River Engine 132 assisted with setting up a landing zone in a nearby soccer field for the helicopter. A short time later Squad 3 was requested to return to the scene to remove a door on the vehicle for the Sheriff’s Office.
