At 09:22 Bay District Station 9, Leonardtown VFD, Lexington Park VRS, Leonardtown VRS and St. Mary’s Advanced Life Support were dispatched to the 44000 block of St. Andrews Church Road for an auto accident with injuries. As units were responding they were advised the patient was unconscious. First arriving Chief 3A (D. Burroughs) found the driver of the vehicle to unresponsive with no pulse. Chief 3A performed rapid extrication and began CPR on the driver of the vehicle. As Chief 3A began CPR Engine 91 and Squad 1 arrived and assisted with patient care until the arrival of EMS. Chief 9B (K. Adams) arrived and assumed the command of the incident while Chief 3A was performing patient care. EMS units arrived and took over patient care with the assistance of Medic 2. The patient was loaded into Ambulance 196 and he obtained (ROSC) Return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC is resumption of sustained perfusing cardiac activity associated with significant respiratory effort after cardiac arrest) and CPR was discontinued and he was transported to MSMH with life threatening injuries.
