Hello everyone, stopped by the website today just to catch up on what is going on at Bay District. I will always owe many thanks to many members of Bay District where I first started as a firefighter way back in 1982. A special Thank You to Keith Fairfax, my first MFRI instructor, Les Hansen and Mike Stanley.
I look forward to stopping in and seeing the new Station 3 and just catching up on old times.

Doug - As a member of the NFFF LAST Team for Maryland, I was deeply involved in the funeral planning process for EMT Tonya Mallard, and attended the funeral and procession (quite unnoticed in my undercover Dodge Neon!). It did my heart good after a very long emotional week to see the boys from Bay District were paying their respects for our fallen sister. Being back in Charles County made me think about the "Good Old Days" at BDVFD quite a bit. Although Anne Arundel County is my life, the heart still belongs on yellow apparatus!!. Looking forward to coming down soon and see the new truck and getting to visit for a while.
Best regards to all, and keep everyone safe out there ~~ Mike
Congratulations guys!
The Tiller looks great! I wish you a lot of fun with the new Truck 3!
Greeting from Germany
Chris

On August 26, 2008, I was involved in the accident on Rte. 4 and 760, I was in the Scion, who was only collateral damage from the head on collision of a Suv and a Silverado. You responded and extracted the victim from the SUV. I just want to thank you for your quick response and care of her. I dont know her name but I do know that I could do nothing to help her and I appreciate so much what you did for her. There hasn't been a day that has passed since that I don't think of her and your volunteers.

Hey guys miss you a lot. I wanted to drop a line and let everyone know I am doing well. I am well into my second month here at school. So far the studiess are going great. Having a full schedule, however means no time left over for a department here in Upper Marlboro. Hope everyone is doing well. I should be back to visit within the next month or so.

Hello again from the rugby club,
Our thanks go out to Jeff Evans and Joe Gould for agreeing to host the 2nd Annual Southern Maryland Fire Truck Pull to Benefit SoMD Red Cross Disaster Relief. The event will be held on Sunday, August 17th (Exactly one month from now) from 10-3 at Station 3. We need everyone's help promoting the event because the Red Cross really needs help with funding this year. Please visit our website for more info, or to sign up your team! www.paxrugby.com
Thanks again,
-Jeff
In response to Sgt. Stockwell's request for information on a tanker, here were our basic criteria:
1. Highly maneuverable
2. Ability to rapidly onload and offload. Must meet NFPA standard for offloading
3. Enough power to make grades and enough braking power
4. Carry 3,000 gallons
5. One man operation
6. Severe duty stainless steel cab and chassis
7. Eliptical tank
8. Ability to top fill if that technique becomes popular in our region
10. Ability to offload at same gpm from side and rear dumps
We spent many hours talking to other departments, observing tanker shuttle drills, etc. We also hired East-West Fire Apparatus Consultants who did a phenomenal job in helping us to spec out the tanker. You can get our spec from Seagrave. I know that many departments are considering it.

Congratulations to Bay District for the awards received at the Firemen's Convention. Proud to say I was a past member and always know the hard work the fire prevention and training officer put in to be the best in Saint Mary's county. Keep up the good work assistant chief Joe Gould, Lauren Johnson and Mellisa Gould. Save the best for last Chief Wayne Johnson.

I just wanted to say that your fire department and members should be very proud. Everytime I visit this website, I am just very impressed with the dedication everyone in your organization shows. Being from a much smaller (population base 150,000) we can learn alot from your department and website. Very professional and your committment shows! Everytime I talk to someone who is looking to improve or start a website, I always refer them to yours.
