Tower-9, Weeek 11 Progress Report for 8-4-16
By Deputy Fire Chief Steve Stockwell
August 5, 2016
As you can see from the photos Tower-9 is moving along now. The body is actually getting fitted, which is why the paint is not installed... finally got an answer for that one. The Aerial and Turntable is getting ready for mounting and the cab is all but finished. I have received word that we will be getting Bi-Weekly Reports from here on out so this is why the Week is labeled as 11, which is because we skipped Week 10 without photos, so this will be a normal thing and you haven't missed any new updates. Also, the Committee has received a Mid-Inspection Trip with the Aerial being mounted within the first week of September and more will follow with that obviously with a lot of photos. Please stay tuned and enjoy the pictures.
Units:
TWR-9
Mutual Aid:
Pierce
Looks like the Cradle is a little bit too ripe and needs to be changed back to Yellow.
The Ladder Compartment.
The Turntable which spins on a gear, rotating the aerial 360 degrees.
The Hinge and Hinge Pin are what allow the aerial to move up and down with the assistance of hydraulic lift cylinders.
The Boom Sections looking like brand new. They fit inside of each other and the hinged section attaches to the turn table.
