E-32 Week 9 and SQ-3 Week 14/Final Inspection, Progress Report for 12/12/14
By Committee Chairman Steve Stockwell
December 14, 2014
After a busy few weeks I'm finally back with an updated report. As you can see from E-32 its coming along, slowly but surely with a list of fixes that we sent out in the Mid-Inspection. They now have all the compartment doors back on and even put our traditional striping on the lower part of the body. One thing that will be fixed is the rear step which is not exactly what we had in mind but the traffic indicator should be recessed into the rear body hidden under the step.
Most of the committee proceeded to Wisconsin (although not that cold) this time for the Final Inspection of SQ-3. The committee then poured over all the notes and went over the entire truck to ensure everything was up to our standards and that all the appropriate fixes have been made. Then we performed a road and pump test. The pump test passed with flying colors and the road test all I can tell you from my point of view. I have been driving these rigs for a long time now and if you could enjoy a drive in one of these things is a miracle in itself, it drove like a Cadillac and steered as nice if not better than anything I ever drove. Another concern the committee had that was put to rest was the size of the truck versus a small col-de-sac, it turned on a dime and gave you change. All in all a good inspection with very minor issues. The truck turned out beautifully, and with the exception of one or two things I would have done differently (myself) after seeing the finished product (because you can't anticipate every single item) even though I was close haha. I really enjoyed this process and the committee. Look forward to seeing this truck sometime prior to New Year's (crossing my fingers).

Compartment R6, we will be mounting our hydraulic tools in this compartment and L6.
Compartment R5 and R4
Compartment R3, problems learned from the past dictated some of the features on this truck. Standing our Paratech Struts vertical will make our lives and backs easier.
Compartment R2
Compartment R1 the same transverse compartment as L1, for stokes baskets etc.
