By Fire Captain Daniel Burroughs
March 4, 2014

At 03:38 hours BDVFD station's 3 & 9 were alerted to the working house fire in Valley Lee. Engine's 33 & 93 as well as Truck 3 responded at dispatch. At 03:52 hours Engine 33 dropped their 3 in supply line at the end of the drive way. Once on scene Engine 33 found a single wide trailer with fire showing from side C. The crew from Engine 33 quickly stretched the attack line into the structure as Truck 3 arrived. Truck 3 quickly worked to secure the utilities and perform the primary search. Engine 63 arrived and picked up Engine 33's supply line and the crew from Engine 63 pulled the back up line off Engine 33. The crew from Engine 93 arrived on scene and pulled another attack line off of Engine 33. Command had Water Supply 5 set up operations at the Food Lion in Callaway. The fire was placed under control at 04:22 hours. Extensive overhaul was preformed to assure no rekindle would occur. All units were able to clear the scene at 06:08 hours. Engine 33 returned out of service due to frozen attack line's as well as frozen supply line. Engine 33 was back in service by 08:00 hours. During the fire Engine 74 filled in at Company 3 and helped us return Engine 33 to service. We thank them for their help.

Units: Engine 33, Truck 3, Engine 93, Chief 3B, Safety 3A
