By Firefighter/EMT Mike Bruner
April 2, 2011

At 14:55 Stations 9, 3 and EMS Stations 39 and 79 were alerted to the area of 45863 South Springsteen Court for the reported MVA with one possibly trapped. While enroute communications advised that there was a deputy on scene advising the corrected address was going to be at the dead end of MacArthur Blvd and confirmed one vehicle on its roof with heavy entrapment. About this time Engine 92 was arriving on location and asked for the second squad bringing Squad 7 to the scene. Units worked together to stabilize the vehicle utilizing the Rescue 42 and Paratech struts. A helicopter was initially requested, but was down due to weather. Crews worked for approximately 30 minutes to free the trapped driver. The patient was packaged and turned over to awaiting EMS personnel. Captain 9 (Warren) held the command while Captain 3 (Sullivan) held the rescue division. All units cleared the scene within the hour.
