Lunch Time Motor Vehicle Accident with Entrapment

On Friday June 30, 2006 at 11:47 hours, Bay District Volunteers were alerted for a Motor Vehicle Accident at the intersection of First Colony Boulevard @ entrance to Giant. Within minutes, units responded to the call with 9 volunteers. At 11:53 hours, E-92 under the direction of Sergeant Fahey arrived to find a two vehicle accident with the driver of the passenger car trapped. Chief 9B (Jones) arrived on location a minute later and established the First Colony Command. The crew from E-92 and Chief 9B immediately stabilized the car with step chocks and Emergency care was initiated on the driver. The Holmatro tool from E-92 was deployed up to the scene and FF Beach/Chief 9B connected up the hydraulic lines and FF Downs popped the driver side door. Squad 3 under the direction of Assistant Fire Chief Dave Smiley secured the battery on the car while FF Wurtz assisted with patient care. Sergeant Bowes and FF Wurtz secured power to the minivan. Units cleared the scene at 12:30 hours
