By Fire Captain Mike Bruner
December 8, 2022

On 12/08/2022 at 16:55hrs Company 9 and surrounding EMS units were alerted to Three Notch Road and Chancellors Run Rd for the reported auto accident. Shortly after the initial dispatch communications upgraded the assignment after receiving multiple calls of four vehicles involved and multiple subjects trapped, thus bringing Squad 3 and additional advanced life support resources. Rescue Engine 92 arrived and confirmed five vehicles involved, rear end style with two trapped. Their officer performed a scene survey while the crew deployed the bumper line and stabilized the vehicles. Chief 9B (Adams) arrived and established the Three Notch command. Squad 3 arrived and assisted Rescue Engine 92 with extricating an adult and pediatric patient from the minivan by performing a side blow out on either side. Extrication was complete in under 12 minutes and all patients handed over to awaiting EMS.
