Afternoon Extrication in California

At 1:18 pm. on Monday, December 7, Stations 9 and 7 and EMS Stations 38, 79, 39 were dispatched for an auto accident with entrapment at MD Route 235 @ Wildewood Blvd. SMCSO arrived on scene and confirmed one patient was trapped. Squad 7 arrived and began extrication; Rescue Engine 92 arrived and pulled a handline for protection and assisted with extrication. One patient was extricated from the vehicle and was assessed by awaiting EMS, the patient was immediately taken to St. Mary’s Airport to the awaiting MSP Trooper 7 helicopter. Two patients from an additional vehicle were assessed and one required aviation transportation as well. Both patients were flown to a local trauma center. Captain 3 held the California command.
