By Bay District Volunteers
September 3, 2020

At 10:36 hours on September 3, the Engine from Company 9 was alerted for the house fire in Calvert County along with Tanker-7 and Rescue Squad-7 from Hollywood VFD. Engine-93 responded shortly after dispatch with 4 volunteers. While still responding, units from St. Leonard VFD began to arrive on location and requested an engine task force after finding a working fire from the roof.

Engine company 3 was alerted along with Leonardtown VFD Company 1, Mechanicsville VFD Company 2, and Second District VFD Company 6. Engine-32 and Chief-3A (Burroughs) responded with 4 volunteers.

Engine-93 arrived and made access to the house coming up the long driveway and to the second story of the house. The crew located an attic access and extended a handline to the attic.

Extensive overhaul of the house was conducted and units from St. Marys and Calvert were rotated in and out to ensure there was no extension to other areas of the house.

Units operated for approximately an hour and forty minutes until being cleared by command and returning to St. Marys.
