On 10/10/17 at 0744 hrs, Station 9 and Station 1 were alerted for the MVA. E-91 got on the road right after dispatch with 4 volunteers followed by Chief 9B. Chief 9B arrived on scene to find a 2 car T-Bone style collision, with one vehicle needing a door pop at a minimum. E-91 arrived on scene, stabilized the vehicle, deployed a hand line and the tools needed for extrication. After E-91 assessed the vehicle and the driver, it was determined more than a door pop was needed to access and remove the patient. E-91 and RS-1 worked together to remove the driver’s door and flap the roof. The patient was extricated and turned over to A-198 for treatment and transport. Once extrication was complete, E-91 had to rush to restore the wagon for another run being dispatched. A-387 obtained one signed refusal; A-198 transported one priority 2 to Medstar St. Mary's hospital.
