Bay District Volunteers Attend Training
Bay District Volunteers, June 11
On Saturday, June 11, 2022, the Bay District Volunteers attended a live fire multi-jurisdictional training evolution hosted by the NDWFD (Naval District Fire Department, Pax River). Tower 9 attended the drill and was assigned to side “C” (Rear of the building) for rescue operations.

This weekend the members of Bay District celebrated the 75th Anniversary of the Southern Maryland Volunteer Firemen’s Association. Our own Fire Chief, Joe Gould, was the incoming President of the association. At 1118 hours Squad 3 and Engine 91 responded to the 24600 block of Old Three Notch Rd in Company 7s first due response area for a reported kitchen fire. Due to units clearing the first structure fire the assignment (13 minutes earlier) was altered. Units from Company 9 and 3 were the first arriving units on scene. Update on New Engine 31 Week 15
Bay District Volunteers, April 16
This week 31 continued along the assembly line. The hook & attic ladder box was removed for some adjustments. Other the next week more work will be done to complete the fabrication and should go to testing near the end of April and then receive graphics.

28 Acre Woods Fire

In the midafternoon Company 3 was alerted for a small brush fire.
Brush 3 and Tanker 34 responded. Once on scene Brush 3 reported about one acre was on fire and requested another brush unit and tanker to the scene. Bay District Volunteers, January 14
On Friday, January 14th at 1:39 p.m. Bay District and surrounding departments were alerted to the 45000 block of Barefoot Drive for the reported structure fire. Bay District Engine 91, Engine 32, Tower 9 and Tanker 34 responded, Engine 91 arrived to find a small shed involved with fire with extension to a neighboring shed and leaves/grass was burning in several adjacent yards.

Auto Accident into a Building

At 11:01 am the Bay District Volunteers and surrounding EMS companies were alerted to an auto accident with a vehicle into the building at 22141 Three Notch Road in Lexington Park (Pegg Road Shell). Ambulance 388 arrived on scene reporting one vehicle into the building with one patient for checkout. E32 arrived and Fire Chief Gould established the command. On December 20, 2021 just before 7am, Companies 3 & 9 and surrounding companies were alerted for a motor vehicle accident with reported entrapment.

At 11:30 am Bay District was dispatched to 21070 Kala Lane in Lexington Park for a structure fire. St. Mary's County Emergency Communications Center (ECC) advised they had received numerous calls indicating it was a working fire. At 9:29 pm Bay District Station 9 and surrounding departments were dispatched to Cooper D’s at 26511 Loveville Road for a building fire. First arriving Chief 7B (Rector) reported fire showing and established command.
