On November 3, 2010 at 1450 hours the Bay District Volunteers were dispatched along with the NAWC Fire Department, Second District VFD, Hollywood VFD and Seventh District VFD for the reported Working Apartment Fire at 21290 Mayfaire Lane. Engine 32 marked up at dispatch and arrived on the scene about 2 minutes after dispatch advising of a 3 story Apartment Building with smoke showing and was taking their own hydrant. Engine 32's crew advanced the 400' 1.75" handline to the rear of the building finding the back porch area on fire. Engine 132 arrived next and laid a secondary supply line to the building and Engine 33 picked up their line. Chief 3B arrived and established the "Mayfaire Lane Command". Truck Company 3 arrived next and took position on Side "A" of the building and searched Apt. 102 and the apartment above for any extension. The crews made quick work of the fire bringing it under control within 5 minutes of Dispatch. Command held the assignment with units from Company 3, 13 and 9 and was quickly reduced to Company 3 after units picked up. The Fire Marshall was called to the scene and the incident is under investigation by the Fire Marshall's Office. All units were back in quarters at 1541 hours.
