On Saturday May 22, 2010 at 2139 hours the Volunteers from Bay District, Valley Lee and Lexington Park EMS were dispatched to the area of Great Mills Road and Jay Dee Court for the House Fire. Engine 32 (Sgt. P. Thomas), Engine 91 (Sgt. M. Ammann), Engine 92 (Sgt. Iagnemmo), Truck 3 (Chief 3B) and Chief 3 along with Engine 61 and Engine 62 responded at dispatch with 28 Volunteers.

Once units had marked up Communications advised that there was smoke coming from the area of the trailer park next to St. Mary's Square so the units from Company 3 started searching that area. Engine 32, Chief 3 and Truck 3 all arrived at 46499 Sue Drive with a Working Trailer Fire and Chief 3 established the "Sue Drive Command" and assigned Chief 3B as Interior Operations.

On the Working Fire Dispatch Engine 132 (Lt. Bean) was dispatched to the scene. Engine 32's crew advanced a 1 3/4" handline into the front door initiating an aggressive interior attack, while the initial crews were operating inside the conditions started to deteriorate and the fire flashed on the crews forcing the crews to back out. Engine 32's Driver along with Engine 91's driver secured a water source, while the crew advanced a back up line to the trailer and once the bulk of the fire was knocked the Truck Company with Rescue Engine 92 started opening up and conducting Primary and Secondary Searches.

Due to uncertainty that everyone was out of the house the crews from Engine 62, Engine 61, Engine 132 worked together setting up Lights, Fans and conducted multiple searches, the crews then split up hitting the remaining hot spots as Fire Communications attempted to locate the owner. A short time later Communications advised that, they had located the homeowner at work and she advised everyone was out of the residence.

All crews on the scene worked well together bringing the fire under control at 2153 hours. Due to the residence being vacant at the time of the fire, Command requested SMECO and the Maryland State Fire Marshall to the scene to conduct an investigation on the cause of the fire. As communications had been in contact with the homeowner, she requested Red Cross to assist her in finding a place to stay. Once all hotspots were out command scaled back the incident and held units from Company 3 and Company 9 to assist the Fire Marshall and all units cleared the scene at 0021 hours.
