| On Sunday May 9, 2010 at 1534 hours volunteers from Hollywood, Leonardtown, Mechanicsville, Avenue and Hollywood EMS and Mechanicsville EMS were dispatched to the area of 40350 Coonhunters Road in Oakville for a Working House Fire. Shortly after dispatch Chief 79A arrived on the scene with a working fire and reported fire through the roof. Chief 7A (Insley) arrived a short time later confirming that report and established the Oakville Command. Units from Hollywood, Leonardtown and Mechanicsville arrived and initiated an aggressive interior attack on the residence and Water Supply 5 setup the Water Supply from a nearby pond.
As units worked for over 30 minutes bringing the bulk of the fire under control Command requested 2 additional Engine Companies bringing Engine 32, Engine 92 (From Station 7) and Hughesville Engine 23 to the scene. Once those companies arrived Command instructed them to assist with overhaul and wetting down some hotspots. Units from Bay District cleared the fireground at 1723 and returned to quarters. The State Fire Marshall's Office was called to the scene for investigation on the cause of this fire |
