Volunteers Run First Due Working House Fire |

| At 01:30 hrs Station 9, Station 3 , Tower 9, Truck 3, Station 7, Water Supply 5, and Ambulance 388 were alerted to 46051 Thompson Lane for the Working House Fire, Ambulance 388 approached and advised of a heavy column of smoke from Buck Hewitt Road. Engine 92(FF. Richard Starr), Engine 32(FF. Fairfax), Tower 9 (FF. Bussler), Truck Company 3(Sgt. Stockwell), Engine 33 (FF. Bruner) all responded within a minute of dispatch. Engine 32 and Chief 3B arrived at the house reporting a single family split foyer style residence with heavy fire showing and advanced the 200ft 1 3/4" attack line into the structure. Engine 92 arrived to the rear of the Shopping Center and was redirected to reverse lay from Engine 32 and supplied them with water, Tower 9 arrived and started a primary search of the residence which proved negative and opened up for the Engine Crew and began overhaul. Engine 73 arrived and laid out a secondary supply line in the shopping center to the rear of the residence where Engine 74 had the hydrant. Engine 73's crew advanced the 400ft 1 3/4" line, pulled lights and laddered the structure. Engine 33 arrived and started a secondary search which also proved negative and assisted the Truck Company. Truck 3 crew assisted with opening up and overhaul. Squad 3 arrived and provided lighting, and fans. Chief 3 had the Command. Chief 3B had Interior. Units cleared at 03:53. The incident is being further investigated by the Maryland State Fire Marshall's Office and is being handled as a Arson Investigation. Photos Courtesy of John Douglass |
