| At 04:40 the Bay District Volunteers were alerted to a working mobile home fire at 20544 Spring Hill Road in Hermanville. Minutes later Captain 3 (Joe Gould) arrived on scene and reported a "working trailer fire with trailers on both sides being threatened" and requested two additional tankers. Minutes later Engine 31 arrived under the direction of Fire Sergeant David Carroll. Engine 31 crew began to protect exposures and initiated an attack using 1 3/4" attack line, but were unable to enter the mobile home due to the roof already falling. Engine 91 & Engine 43 arrived and assisted Engine 31 with an additional line and attempted to perform a search. Due to the structural integrity of the building the primary search was unable to be performed. Squad 3 arrived under the direction of Deputy Fire Chief 3 (Wayne Johnson) and assisted with attack crews. Engine 71 and Tanker 4 provided water by performing a tanker shuttle. Engine 63 responded and was diverted to station 3 to fill in the station. After fire was extinguished the roof was cut into several pieces and removed to enable the overhaul to be performed safely. Units remained on scene to assist the Maryland state Fire Marshall Office with investigation. The Red Cross responded to assist the displaced family with lodging. The Associates of Bay District responded with rehabilitation supplies to re-hydrate firefighters. Command - Deputy Chief 9 ( Jason Adams)
