Three Transported Following Two-Vehicle Crash in Great Mills

On Saturday, March 14, 2026, at approximately 5:10 p.m., crews from the Bay District Volunteer Fire Department Stations 9 and 3, along with the Second District Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad and EMS units, were dispatched to the intersection of Pegg Road and Lexington Drive in Great Mills for a reported motor vehicle collision with entrapment.

Emergency personnel arrived to find a two-vehicle, T-bone style collision involving multiple occupants. One individual was trapped inside a vehicle while three patients required medical evaluation.

Firefighters quickly stabilized the vehicles and began extrication efforts. The trapped occupant was safely removed from the vehicle in under 15 minutes, allowing EMS personnel to begin patient care.

Two patients were transported by ambulance to an area hospital for further evaluation. A third patient was transported by ambulance to the University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Firefighters remained on the scene to assist with patient care, hazard mitigation, and traffic control while the roadway was temporarily impacted during the response. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Motorists are reminded to stay alert, avoid distractions, and always drive cautiously through intersections to help prevent serious collisions.
