In the early hours of Sunday, March 17, 2024, at 1:37 a.m., Bay District Station 3 (Lexington Park) and surrounding EMS Companies were dispatched to the intersection of West Westbury Boulevard and Wilcutt Street in Lexington Park, for a motor vehicle collision with reported injuries.

Upon arrival at the scene, emergency response teams discovered a single vehicle had collided with a parked and unoccupied vehicle. The operator of the vehicle, along with two passengers, sustained injuries as a result of the collision.

Due to the severity of the injuries, emergency medical personnel urgently requested air transportation, resulting in the dispatch of two Maryland State Police helicopters, Trooper 2 and Trooper 7, to the scene. These helicopters were instrumental in swiftly transporting the injured parties to appropriate medical facilities for advanced care.

One patient, suffering from critical head injuries, was airlifted to a trauma center by Trooper 2, while the other patient was transported to another trauma center by Trooper 7. A third injured individual was transported by ground to a nearby hospital for further evaluation and treatment.

Our thoughts are with the individuals involved in this incident, and we extend our sincerest wishes for their swift and full recovery.
