On Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at 1:04 p.m., local emergency services, including Station 3 and surrounding EMS companies, were swiftly dispatched to the intersection of Great Mills Road and Westbury Boulevard in response to a reported motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian.

Multiple 911 callers conveyed the gravity of the situation, reporting that a pedestrian had been struck, and there were concerns about their breathing. First responders from various agencies quickly responded to the scene.

Upon arrival, emergency crews discovered an unconscious patient lying in the roadway. The severity of the situation prompted a request for a helicopter evacuation; however, unfortunately, all available air support was grounded due to adverse weather conditions.

Emergency medical personnel worked diligently to stabilize the injured pedestrian on-site before transporting them to a nearby hospital. The extent of the injuries is believed to be life-threatening, underlining the critical nature of the incident.

The striking vehicle involved in the collision remained at the scene, and both occupants cooperated with medical evaluations. One occupant was subsequently transported to an area hospital for further assessment.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the injured pedestrian and their loved ones during this challenging time. We would like to express our gratitude to the swift and coordinated response of all emergency personnel involved.
