Motor Vehicle Accident with Entrapment

On August 21, 2021 at 08:45 Bay District Stations 3 & 9 along with multiple EMS companies were dispatched for an auto accident with entrapment on Three Notch Road @ FDR Blvd.. Engine 32, Squad 3, Rescue Engine 92 and Fire Chief 3 responded to the incident. First arriving Engine 32 reported a single vehicle with heavy entrapment. Squad 3 arrived under the command of Assistant Chief 3 (Ticson) and assumed command of the incident, moments later Fire Chief 3 (Gould) arrived and assumed command and assigned Assistant Chief Ticson the extrication group.

Crews worked together extricating, while EMS was treating the patient. It was determined the patient needed to be treated at a trauma center and Maryland State Police Aviation was requested. While crews were completing the extrication MSP Trooper 7 arrived and landed on Three Notch Road. The patient was removed from the vehicle and taken to MSP Trooper 7 to be transported to University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center in Largo MD.

Engine 132 (NDWFD) assisted with providing support for the landing zone on Three Notch Road. All units restored equipment and performed an incident critique before returning to quarters.
