Working Building Fire in Lexington Park

At 7:25 pm on Sunday, February 7 Station 3 was alerted to 46763 South Shangri-La Drive, Lexington Park Elementary School, for a commercial fire alarm. E32 arrived on scene at 7:30 and was performing the investigation of the fire alarm and found a working fire in one of the mobile classrooms in the rear. The assignment was upgraded to a structure fire bringing Truck 3, E132 (NDWFD), Truck 13, RE92, Tower 9, E61 (SDVFDRS), Squad 6, A389, A67 and A798.

E32, E132 and RE92 crews worked to extinguish the fire in 26 minutes. Extensive damage was done to the mobile classroom. Crews from Truck 3, Tower 9, Truck 13, and Squad 6 performed overhaul of the mobile classroom and units returned to service at 11:01 pm. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the State Fire Marshal Office.
