Working Fire in California

On Sunday, November 17, 2019, at approximately 4:23 a.m., firefighters from Bay District, NAS Patuxent River, Hollywood, Leonardtown, and Valley Lee responded to 45366 Abell Drive in California, for the reported house on fire.

Units arrived to find a house fully involved in fire. Due to the advancement of the fire a defensive attack was performed. Crews used over 3000 feet of supply hose to connect to a local fire hydrant for water supply to control the fire. One member was treated and released on the scene by EMS, the resident of the home was treated on scene by Lexington Park Volunteer Rescue Squad and transported to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital with respiratory problems.

Crews operated on the scene for over 3 ½ hours. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Maryland State Fire Marshall.
