MVA with Entrapment

On Tuesday, October 22 at 8:49 pm your Bay District Volunteers were alerted to an auto accident with injuries at the intersection of Three Notch Road & Pegg Road. Squad 3, Engine 32, Fire Chief 3 (Wahrenbrock) and Assistant Fire Chief 3 (Burroughs) responded to the incident. Squad 3 arrived and reported a "Head on Style Collision" with entrapment. Squad 3 began extrication as Chief 3A arrived and assumed command. Chief 3 arrived and was assigned the rescue group. Engine 132, Haz-Mat 13 (NDWFD) and Squad 7 (HVFD) arrived and assisted with extrication. The patient was freed from the wreckage and turned over to the EMS crews awaiting. A helicopter was requested for the patient and was unable to respond due to weather.

One patient was transported to Prince Georges Hospital Center with non-life-threatening injuries and one patient was transported to Medstar St. Mary's Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

While on the scene of this incident one ambulance and E32 cleared to respond to another medical emergency.
