Company Catches Work in Lusby, MD

Company 9 units (Engine 91, Tower 9) were alerted to a fully involved structure fire in Lusby in Calvert County. While en-route to the scene, fire could be seen while traveling across the Thomas Johnson bridge. Calvert units arrived and reported a fully involved three story structure. The Crew from Tower 9 were immediately placed on the Charlie-Delta corner to assist with attack group operations. Engine 91 arrived minutes after Tower 9 and reported to the Charlie-Delta corner to assist with attack group operations. Heavy fire was throughout the structure and a large brush fire also placed exposures at risk. Units worked vigorously to get the fire under control. This attack group finally got the fire under control after an hour and 30 mins of attack operations. This attack group also were placed in charge of the large brush fire in the back of the residence. After two hours, fire was reported out and overhaul operations were assigned to units returning from rehab. Company 9 reported to rehab and then were placed back into service after all members were accounted for and check by EMS personnel.
