Afternoon MVA in California

At 3:16 on Sunday, December 30th Stations 9, 3 & 7 were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident with injuries that was reported to be serious. Initial reports were a bystander was performing CPR on one of the patients. NDW Engine 132 was in the area and arrived on scene shortly after dispatch. Engine 91 arrived and reported two people trapped and began stabilization of the vehicle. Squad 3 arrived and began extrication with Squad 7 assisting. All units worked for approximately 15 minutes to extricate the two trapped occupants and turned them over to awaiting EMS crews. Due to the severity of the injuries command requested aviation to transport a total of three patients to area trauma center, two pediatric and one adult patient, two additional patients were transported to MSMH.
