Kitchen Fire in California

After a long day of running wires and trees down during a wind storm that had come in to the area Stations 9,3,7,1,5 and Calvert County Station 3 were alerted for a house fire around 5:30 pm.

Units from both stations responded immediately after dispatch. Chief 9B was the first to arrive on scene and reported smoke coming from the residence and he assumed command.

Engine 91 arrived next and upon making entry into the residence discovered the entire kitchen on fire with extension into the attic space. Chief 7 assumed operations inside the residence and Solomons Truck 3 arrived and assisted in ventilation.

The fire was quickly extinguished and as other units arrived they assisted in the overall operation and the due to the quick work of everyone involved all units were able to go in service within an hour

Engine 92 remained on the scene several more hours to assist the State Fire Marshall in his investigation

Unfortunately two family pets perished in the fire and the Bay District Fire Dept. extends there condolences to the family in the loss of there pets.
