By Bay District Volunteers
January 3, 2018

At 1858 hours stations 3, 9, 13, & 6 were alerted for a structure fire at 45737 Oregon Way in Great Mills.

Engine 32, Engine 91, & Tower 9 all responded shortly after dispatch. Chiefs 3 & 3A also responded.

Units arrived finding a double wide mobile home with smoke showing. Engine 32 pulled an attack line into the home and started an attack on the fire. Engine 91 arrived along with Tower 9. Chief 3 (Wahrenbrock) arrived and established the command. Tower 9 entered the home to hook the ceiling where Engine 32 reported the fire. Engine 132 assisted inside as Engine 91 pulled a backup line to the front door.

Command gave operations to Chief 3A who reported Engine 32 had a chimney fire that got into the roof line. Also, the roof was compromised and sagging into the bedroom below the fires origin. Operations had crews pull the ceiling down to expose the burned areas. After the fire was out crews continued to check for extension and hit the remaining hot spots.

Command began to scale back the incident until units were able to clear around 2030 hours.

Units: Engine 32, Rescue 3, Engine 91. Tower 9, Chief 3, Chief 3A

Mutual Aid: Engine 132, Engine 61, Squad 6, Ambulances from 39 & 38
