Breakfast With Santa
By Public Information Officer Douglas Medley
December 3, 2017
Well is was time to wind down on the fire department activities for Christmas with our annual breakfast with Santa and all the little ones. This is one of my favorites with all the little ones dressed in their finest outfits and they could care less about eating they just wanted to see Mr. Claus and tell him what they hoped for to receive under their tree come Christmas morning. Now he was all ears along with the Mom and Dad's who were right there listening to their children's requests and somehow I bet they will get just what they were asking for this year. I think it might have helped that Santa had a bag of coal and a bundle of switches right by his chair.
The Associates under the direction of their President Jeff McLane always put on an excellent breakfast for all to enjoy and this year as a gift to the parents all the kids ate for free. This just a little something from the Bay District Volunteers to all the families who support us all the time. Heck the kids don't eat anything anyway cause they are so excited to see the fat man.
Plenty of picture taking and our photographer Bruce Theden was everywhere snapping away and I will share with all of you. Our next final project will be our annual visit to the Chesapeake Shores Nursing Home on Christmas Eve. This is something our Webmaster Jason Adams started over 20 years ago and we have given up our Christmas Eve's with our families to visit with some fine citizens of our community who otherwise may not see anybody on this wonderful night. We have Santa and he has something for everyone and the look on our senior citizens face's are priceless. It gives you the good kind of goosebumps walking up and down the halls with us trying to sing Carol's.
So I will sign off to you all my faithful readers with a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I would mail cards but I can't afford all those thousands of stamps. Love You All.....
