At 1508 hours the tones dropped for a reported house fire at 46480 Midway Drive in Patuxent Homes in Station 3's first due. As units marked up they were told the second floor was off and 3 had a short run to the location. Upon the arrival of Engine 31 heavy smoke and fire were reported from the second floor. Engine 31 laid out from the nearest hydrant with Engine 91 picking up their line. Navy Engine 132 took a secondary hydrant and Squad 3 came in to provide special services. Also due on the call was Engine 6 (Valley Lee) along with their Squad and Truck 7 (Hollywood).

The firefighters from 3 with 9 backing them up knocked the fire down in a matter of minutes holding the fire to the upstairs. Squad 3 took care of the utilities and opened up for ventilation. Navy Engine 132 after getting their water came up and assisted on the total extinguishing of the fire.

This was a classic room(several) and contents and the training that our guys do pretty much every Monday night kicked in and it runs like a well chronograph ballet. Our Fire Chief Joe Gould held the overall command. Cause of the fire is under investigation by the State Fire Marshall Office.

Don't want to forget the Lexington Park Rescue Squad who always has our back with two ambulances on the scene.
