Tower-9, Week 4 Progress Report for 6/10/16

On the update this week, our apparatus cab is nearing completion and ready for mounting to the frame. While the chassis is near completion as a rolling chassis, we did notice that the frame was the wrong color and not our Bay District yellow, this will be corrected and should not take away much time from the delivery date. The reason behind why the frame is yellow is also an interesting one. When we were completing Truck-3 in 2007-08 timeframe we never specified the color of the frame or requested a color. Seagrave painted the frame our "job color" which is the primary color of yellow that we know separates us from the rest of the county. When they painted the frame yellow we found out shortly after that the yellow holds up good and is better for our Mechanics to find issues like leaks and fluids, identifying and fixing the problem that much faster... So ever since then all of our frames/chassis' have been painted yellow. Anyway the rolling chassis will be repainted, however it appears that the Aerial is in the booth now, and passed all its testing. Next week you may or may not see and update however, the body should be getting fabricated and the cab closed and buttoned up and ready to proceed to the next step which entails mounting to the chassis, until then...
