On 08/11 while multiple units were operating on a gas leak in California St. Mary’s Fire communications sounded the alarm for a house on fire at 24524 Ruff Ruff Lane in Hollywood VFD’s first due area. Engine 31 and Engine 91 were able to clear the gas leak to respond on the run. At 13:10 Fire Chief 7 arrived on scene with smoke showing. Due to units still operating on the gas leak, Truck 7 was the first arriving unit followed by Engine 31 and Engine 73. Due to Engine 31 being understaffed, the officer from Engine 31 and a Member of the Truck Company deployed 200' of 1.75” hoseline through the front door. Once inside, units opened up, found fire consuming floor joists, and inside of the wall caused by an overloaded electric outlet extinguishing the same.

Units operated just under 2 hours. Fire Chief 7 held the Command.
