Please excuse the delay in the story as I experienced technical issues with my labtop/website when originally working on the story. The last few weeks has been busy for the Bay District Volunteer Fire Department as the Heavy Rescue was delivered on Monday, January 5th and the Final Inspection of E-32 was to be performed on January 10th and 11th with some of the committee members.

After some minor delays and details being worked out our new Heavy Rescue apparatus was delivered by our regional dealer from Atlantic Emergency Solutions (AES), Randy Schwartz. It was delivered on our drill night and as I kept a good cover story that the truck would be in later that week, I had been planning delivery for that particular Monday long before anyone really knew. With the help of some key players, including the President, Treasurer, Fire Chief and Assistant Chief; the apparatus rolled in just behind our current SQ-3. I texted the Assistant Chief we were ready, and the Fire Chief strolled into the drill (from the Board of Directors Meeting) pretending to be upset about a particular topic ensuring that everyone knew something was wrong. They were told to report behind SQ-3 and as they approached apprehensive to having to "hear it from the Chief"... the New Heavy Rescue was revealed leaving everyone with a jaw dropping surprise behind door number 1.

Within two days we had a small list of items to be fixed by Atlantic/Pierce, completed the tool mounting and as soon as it returns from getting the fixes completed and hydraulic reels mounted it will go to First Due Apparatus Solutions for tool mounting, which our friends in Hollywood have take care of the last few apparatus (T-3, E-91, E-93) and have done an excellent job. They are revered for their custom work and expertise in the knowledge of tool mounting and apparatus modifications. Once tool mounting is completed it should be ready for training and to be put in service in the county, and will start serving the 8th Election District for the next 20 years.

The very weekend following members from the E-32 Committee left for Wisconsin and performed a Final Inspection on E-32. The presentation of the truck was as too the usual high standards and the committee was impressed by the overall view from seeing something on paper for so long to being constructed to real life. The committee went over the entire truck from top to bottom; and front to back ensuring all the fixes were completed and noticing anything issues that may arise. From there it was brought down to the AES Baltimore Shop, which I received a phone call yesterday about and will be delivered on Saturday, January 24th around noon time.
