On December 9 at 19:46 hours Company 9, Squad 3, Squad 7, Stations 38, & 39 were all alerted for a MVA reported serious.

Engine 91 arrived on scene with 2 vehicles in the roadway. One in the south bound of Rt. 235 and the other was in the turn lane on north bound 235. Engine 91 reported the vehicle in the turn lane had the patient trapped inside. Engine 91 stabilized the vehicle and placed an air bag cover on the steering wheel.

Squad 3 arrived and quickly went to work removing both the driver side doors and b post. The crew from Engine 91 went to stabilize the other vehicle at this time. Chief 3A arrived at this time assuming command from Engine 91 and placed Squad 3's officer in charge of the rescue group. The rescue group supervisor advised command that Squad 7 was not needed and command placed them in service. The patient was removed from the vehicle within 10 minutes. All patients were transported by the ambulances on scene. All units were all in quarters by 20:17 hours.
