Afternoon Trailer Fire in Company 3's Area

On December 4th at 14:12 hours Companies 3, 13, 4, 9, & Station 39 were alerted for the reported working trailer fire at 48453 Sandys Way in Lexington Park.

Engine 33 was already on the road clearing another call, when the call was dispatched and started towards the fire. Chief 3 responded at this time requesting an additional tanker and Engine 63 was dispatched. Engine 33 arrived at 14:20 founding a single wide trailer with smoke showing from the roof. Engine 132 arrived next and completed the primary search of the trailer with negative results and secured the exterior utilities.

Engine 33's crew had the fire knocked within 10 minutes. Squad 3 responded and once scene performed the secondary search also with negative results. The Maryland State Fire Marshal was requested to investigate the cause of the fire. Crews assisted with overhaul of the trailer and once they weren't needed by the fire marshal were all able to return to service.

Engine 93 filled in at station 3 during the majority of the fire and responded on a MVA on Rt. 5 by the Great Mills Post Office as well as Rescue Engine 62.
