At 01:07 hours Company 9, Squad 3, Station 38, Station 39 & St. Mary's County Advanced Life Support Unit were dispatched for a Motor Vehicle Accident. Moments after the dispatch Rescue Engine 62 was also dispatched due to reports of entrapment.

While en route Fireboard advised Captain 3 of the patients being trapped and that Rescue Engine 62 was not on the road yet. Captain 3 requested Hazmat 13 to be added for their rescue tools. A member from Station 39 was on scene conforming entrapment and requested a helicopter category A priority 2. Captain 3 established the command while Lieutenant 3 had the rescue group. Engine 91 assisted with stabilizing the truck and deployed an attack line for protection. As the crews started to remove the driver’s door from the truck the ems personnel did a rapid extrication from the passenger side. Chief 3 arrived and assumed command. Then attention was toward the car where the Squad crew had to perform a door pop so the patient could exit the vehicle safely. All patients were extricated by 01:24. The second EMS crew went on to provide patient care to the driver of the car. Chief 3 placed Rescue Engine 62 & Hazmat 13 in service and had Engine 132 handle the landing zone at Great Mills High School. Ambulance 398 transported to the hospital while ambulance 387 went to the landing zone. Command was terminated at 01:36.

All units were able to return to service by 01:53.
