**UPDATED** E-32 Week 2, SQ-3 Week 7 Progress Report for 10/24/14

Well this week as far as our two trucks in production at Pierce have gained some ground which made it good timing for the SQ-3 Committee to shoot out to Wisconsin for the Mid-Inspection Trip. I will add those photos Mid-Inspection Photos tomorrow but to satisfy those curious with the progress of the two new incoming units I will add those photos given to us by Pierce.

E-32's cab is completely painted and ready for chassis mounting. The body is complete in fabrication and is waiting E-Coating which is an eco friendly coat we added to the aluminum body to give us some protection from the elements as opposed to stainless body and is a little more cost effective versus the stainless cost. The body, after e-coating will go to the paint booth and move to mounting on the chassis.

SQ-3 is completely done as far as painting both the body and cab. For those of you unfamiliar with the process both the Cab and Chassis are made at the large pumper facility and then once complete shipped to the Truck/ARFF/Rescue facility where the body is being built. Then both are mated together as in the case of some of the photos below. The body has been mounted and wiring, hydraulic lines and power is being ran to the body of the unit. Cordreels are being mounted in the proper compartments (electric and air. Our particular unit has two air reels with 150ft of hose and 4 cordreels, all four; 200ft long with hardwired junction boxes. Interestingly, I assumed the body of the truck would be lowered on the tank/pump but those units are actually lowered after the body has already been placed on the chassis. The pump is a Hale 250gpm PTO driven pump and the tank will be a UPF 200gal poly tank. UPF is a great company to work with over the years and has supplied all of the water tanks we have on our units since 2004/E-33. Not to mention their warranty is probably the best in the country.

So with that said keep an eye on the photos of our Mid-Inspection in which I will try to post tomorrow and I will make according notes in the Pictures. I would do another story but I want everyone to see what we do outside of just the apparatus reports and to keep VP Medley happy, so he can turn in some of his own stories.
