On Thursday October 2 at 20:20 hours Companies 3, 13, 4, & 9, Truck 3, Station 39 & Company 49 were alerted for the working house fire with reported subjects trapped. Truck 3 was already on the road doing training in California when the call was dispatched and started towards the call. Chief 3A arrived first at 20:23 and found a single story home with fire showing from side C and D with exposure issues and informed units that no one was trapped inside the home after talking with the resident. Chief 3A also requested additional tankers to the call which added companies 6 & 7. Truck 3 arrived next and started laddering the house and securing exterior utilities and opening the front door right as Engine 132 and Engine 31 arrived on scene. Both crews from the engines stretched attack lines into the structure and a second line from Engine 132 was taken to side C to protect exposures. The remaining engine companies arrived shortly after and established the water supply. Units went to the college in St. Mary's City for the fill site. Primary and Secondary searches were conducted and no one was found inside the home. The fire was brought under control within 20 minutes and extensive overhaul was conducted. Command was able to release all units except units from station 3 by 21:45 and the remaining units returned to quarters by 23:11. No injuries were reported.
