The Mission BBQ restaurant which just recently opened their third restaurant held their grand opening on July 22, 2013 and Bay District was there in force to show our support. This unique place is theme orientated toward police, fire, rescue and all the military services within the community and they show their support by having a special opening bash where 100% of the profits go to an organization of our choice. The fire and rescue services of St. Mary's County chose the National Association of Fallen Firefighters as their charity. There was an excellent turnout for the opening with a color guard from the St. Mary's County Sheriff's office presenting the colors. After the presentation of the colors and the singing of the national anthem by a very good young Navy Wave everyone lined up for some good old fashioned BBQ with all the sides. Bay District appreciates the owners of the Mission BBQ for their service to our community and look forward to further fundraisers in the future.
