| You know if you sit around the station long enough you will run a little bit of everything and the other day was no exception. As the guys played video games the EOC (emergency operations center) toned out a call for a subject with their finger caught in a sink. Now we don't ask questions we just go but you have to ask yourself what is someone doing with their finger down the drain of a sink. I have ran calls where kids get their hands caught in candy machines, bicycle chains and those old Chinese games where you put a finger in both ends and then try to get them out. Try it someday. Anyway back to this call when our Engine 91 arrived on the scene they found out that it was going to take a little more equipment than was carried on the Engine so knowing that to call a plumber would take too long the officer requested the Rescue Squad from station 3.
Upon their arrival at the scene with all their handy dandy tools the first thing they did was disconnect the sink from the counter to be able to work then on getting it from the finger of the young MAN. Yes I said man. Ladies know better than to put their fingers down the small hole of a kitchen sink.
After a little cutting and working with some tools the young man was freed from the sink and other than being a little embarrassed he was fine. All units cleared and returned to their stations.
