Mutual Aid Working House Fire

On Saturday March 27, 2005 at 01:12 hours, Valley Lee and Bay District Volunteers were dispatched to 16213 Thomas Road to a reported working house fire. Original call originally came in to the dispatch center for a reported woods fire and after further investigation by the caller; assignment was upgraded to a working structure fire. At 01:18 hours, Chief 6 (Tommy Crowder) arrived on the scene with fire through the roof of a single store residence. Engine 61 under the direction of Lieutenant 6 (Steven Stauffer) arrived on the scene and placed in service 1 3/4" handline and went to work on extinguishing the fire. The units from Station's 3 & 9 assisted with the extinguishment and overhaul of the house. Engine 91 & Engine 32 performed tanker shuttle operations throughout the incident. Units cleared from the scene at 4:46 hours.
