At 1624 hrs Stations 3 & 9 and surrounding EMS units were dispatched to 21036 Great Mills Road for the Motor Vehicle Accident with Entrapment. Engine 32, Squad 3 and Engine 92 responded within seconds of dispatch. First arriving Engine 32 advised 3 car accident with no entrapment, stabilized the vehicles and established Command. Rescue Squad 3 arrived behind 32 securing all vehicles and assisting with patient care. Due to the number of patients being involved Command requested an additional 2 Ambulances on top of the 3 Ambulances that were already enroute. Engine 92 arrived and put 50ft 1/3/4 protection line in service. Command requested a Helicopter for a head injury patient and wanted an additional Engine Company - Engine 132 to handle the Landing Zone at Great Mills High School. Squad 3 found that minor extrication would be needed to free the passenger out of the vehicle, removing both passenger doors and B post. Extrication was complete within 5 minutes and the patient was turned over to the EMS crews. Ambulance 389 transported the patient to the landing zone where he then was air lifted to PG Trauma by Trooper 7. Command was terminated and units went in service as ready.
