Wagon and Squad Run One Overturned

On February 26, 2010 at 2250 hours, Volunteers from Bay District and Ridge VFD along with Lexington Park EMS, Ridge EMS and St. Mary's County ALS were alerted to Three Notch Rd in the area of St. James Rd for the MVA with entrapment reported to be serious. Engine 32, Squad 3 along with Chief 3 all responded immediately after dispatch with 12 Volunteers. Along with the units from Bay District, Rescue Engine 42 (Chief 4A) and numerous EMS units responded fully staffed shortly after dispatch making the assignment complete. At 2255 hours, Chief 3 arrived in the area and found the corrected location to be on St. James Rd. approximately 60ft into the woods over turned and the Chief confirmed one person still in the vehicle and established the "St. James Church Road Command". At 2257 hours, Engine 32 arrived, assisted the patient out of the vehicle, and assisted with Patient Care. Shortly after the Squad's arrival, Command held the units from Bay District and Surrounding EMS and one Patient was transported Priority 2 to SMH. Engine 32 remained on the scene for a short time while the vehicle was up righted and all units returned to quarters at 2346 hours.
