Head On Crash In Spring Ridge

By Deputy Chief Jeff Evans
July 4, 2008

On July 4, 2008 at 1632 hours the Volunteers from Station 3 were alerted to the area of 20154 Three Notch Road in Spring Ridge for the MVA with undetermined injuries. Engine 32, Squad3, Chief 3A all responded within two minutes of the call with a total of 9 volunteers. At 1636 hours Chief 3A and Engine 32 arrived on the scene and advised of a Head On Accident with one person still inside the vehicle not trapped. Squad 3 arrived a few minutes later and the crews worked together stabilizing the vehicle, securing the power and starting patient care. After a full assessment of the patient it was determined that the patient would need to be flown to a trauma center. Engine 33 re-diverted from a fire alarm in Station 9's first due and setup the landing site at Spring Ridge Middle School for Trooper 2. All units were back in quarters at 1730 hours. Chief 3A held the "Spring Ridge Command".

Units: Engine 32, Engine 33, Squad 3, Chief 3, Chief 3A
Mutual Aid: Amb 397, Amb 388, Medic 2, Syscom, SMCSO, MSP, Trooper 2
