Volunteers To Early Morning 1st Due House

On 7/1/08 @ 2:47 hours, Communications dispatched Bay District Volunteers to BOX 3-07 21570 Columbia Street for a 'House on fire'. Engine 32 and Truck 3 along with Chief 3A with a total of 13 personnel were on the road in less than 2 minutes. A minute after the initial dispatch Companies 9 and Company 5 were added due to Communications receiving numerous calls indicating a working house fire. Engine 92, 33, 91 along with Chief 3 and 9B responded on the call with 16 personnel. At 2:52 hours, Chief 3A (Joe Gould) arrived on the scene side A of a two Story Residence with Fire through the roof establishing the Columbia Street Command and then requested the Second Alarm to be dispatched. At 2:54 hours, Engine 32 under the direction of Lieutenant 3 (David Carroll) arrived on the scene and took their own hydrant connection just past the residence and the crew stretched a 2 ½" and 1 ¾" hand lines to side A of the structure. At 2:54 hours Truck 3 under the direction of Sergeant 3 (Steve Stockwell) arrived to side A of the structure where Command advised them to set up the Aerial for master stream operations and Engine 132 staged just past Engine 32 where the crew assisted with pulling a Back Up line off of Engine 32. Engine 92 under the direction of acting officer (Richard Starr) arrived minutes later and laid a secondary water supply from Constellation Street back to the Fire ground where they supplied Engine 33 which was supplying Truck Company 3. Engine 43 completed the Water Supply for Engine 92 at the hydrant. The engine crews made quick work on the fire knocking the fire down with the master stream device along with multiple hand-lines in operation at the same time within a matter of minutes. Truck 7 arrived and started opening up the structure along with Truck 3 along with doing a primary and secondary searches on parts of the house that they were able to get too. At 0331 hours Chief 3 advised that the fire was under control and he would be holding all units for overhaul operations. Once everything was complete Chief 3 advised at 0513 hours that Command was terminated and that all units could return to quarters. Chief 3(Johnson) held the "Columbia St." Command and Chief 3A(Gould), Chief 9B(Jones) held the operations.
