On New Years Eve at 1345 hours the Volunteers from Bay District were alerted to the area of Route 5 and Old Great Mills Road for the reported MVA with injuries. Chief 3 (Johnson) marked up immediately and was in the area within a minute of dispatch further investigating. After about a minute the fire chief located the accident about a 1/2 mile in on Flat Iron Road with one into a pole and started the proper company's Station 6 (Valley Lee) was then alerted. Squad 3 then marked up within 2 minutes of the call under the direction of FF. Wahrenbrock and arrived a short time later. The occupant was found out of the vehicle away from the accident scene with a head injury. Chief 6 arrived on the scene and command was given over to him from Fire Chief 3. Command then asked Communications for a helicopter and they replied it would be an extended ETA due to several other accidents in the county at the time. Trooper 2 was dispatched from Syscom and was landed in the parking lot of Brass Rail. Engine 62 handled the Landing Zone and Squad 3 assisted in Patient care and packaging of the patient. Units from Station 3 were clear the call and in quarters at 1451 hours.
